Manitoba Environmental Design Individual Consideration sketch
Environmental Design's Individual Consideration category is for eligible Canadian citizens or permanent residents whose academic record does not compete well in the general category because of exceptional circumstances or at least three years of related full-time work. Its autobiographical sketch must explain the particular basis for the request; this is a different task from the Indigenous applicant sketch.
Writing format
Up to five double-spaced pages explaining the consideration request, plus a portfolio and evaluations
What to prepare
- 1Name whether the request rests on exceptional circumstances or qualifying related work experience, then explain why that basis matters to your application.
- 2Connect concrete evidence of initiative, design or planning work, or academic potential to the committee's stated review factors.
- 3If exceptional circumstances affected grades, explain the academic effect clearly without adding private details that are unnecessary to establish the case.
How to approach the writing
- Make the reason for Individual Consideration easy to find within the five-page limit; the committee reviews the complete package holistically.
- Use the portfolio for creative evidence and the three confidential evaluations for independent perspective. Work Experience applicants also need a separate CV.

The 2026–27 bulletin's April 1, 2026 application deadline and June 1 supporting-document deadline have passed. Confirm the next bulletin and whether you qualify for this category before drafting; general applicants do not submit this sketch.
