Asper Individual Consideration personal statement
Asper's advanced-entry Individual Consideration category has a specific personal statement for applicants whose academic achievement was affected by circumstances. The statement must identify the circumstance, when it affected study, which academic terms the applicant asks Asper to exclude from its adjusted GPA, and how the impact has been managed. Regular Track 1 and Track 2 applicants do not submit this statement.

What to prepare
- 1State the reason for requesting Individual Consideration and connect it directly to lower academic results.
- 2Set out the relevant dates and academic terms precisely so the requested GPA review can be understood.
- 3Explain how the circumstance ended or is managed now, and what that means for future academic work.
How to approach the writing
- Use a clear chronology within the strict 800-word maximum; the statement is an evidence-based request, not a general why-business essay.
- Coordinate the statement with required professional supporting documents, which must address the same time period and academic effect.
Before you submit
Manitoba lists October 1, 2026 for the Winter 2027 application and October 15 for Individual Consideration material. Check the applicant portal and category eligibility before filing, and do not send sensitive supporting records through a general writing tool.
