Manitoba alumni entrance scholarship essay
Manitoba's Alumni Association entrance award selects direct-entry students for an essay about what becoming a future University of Manitoba alumnus means to them. This is a separate scholarship application, not an essay required of every admission applicant. The published 2026–27 application is in Aurora and its August 1 deadline has passed.
Writing format
Essay on the personal significance of becoming a future Manitoba alumnus
What to prepare
- 1Explain what membership in the university's future alumni community would mean to you personally, using a specific interest or contribution.
- 2Connect your planned first-year study or participation to a longer relationship with the university rather than listing past achievements alone.
- 3Check the live Aurora application for its exact field and length; the public award page names the theme but does not publish a word limit.
How to approach the writing
- Keep the answer grounded in your own reason for attending Manitoba and what you hope to contribute over time.
- Prepare the essay separately from the admission application because the award has its own application route.
Before you submit
Manitoba lists August 1 for the 2026–27 application. Do not reuse that date for a later intake; wait for the next award notice and confirm eligibility, submission route, prompt, and deadline in Aurora.
