Dalhousie BEDS architecture personal statement
Dalhousie's Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies architecture application is for students entering after prior university study, including architecture transfers, not a general first-year high-school supplement. It asks for a letter to the admissions committee about architecture and Dalhousie, alongside a separate portfolio, resume, and references.

What to prepare

- 2Use a specific project, observation, activity, or prior course to show how your interest in architecture developed.
- 3Describe aspirations or experiences that add context, then connect them to what you hope to learn rather than listing travel or activities.
How to approach the writing
- Write the statement as a one-to-two-page letter to the Admission Committee and upload it as its own PDF.
- Keep the 10–15 design works, resume, and references in their separate files; the school says not to embed the statement in the portfolio.

The page still names the September 2026 entry and a March 1 deadline for new BEDS students. Check the next intake and current portal before applying; the separately described transfer route uses different timing and application selections.
