Dalhousie Acting one-page declaration
Dalhousie's Fountain School of Performing Arts asks Acting applicants for a one-page declaration about why they want to study acting in its program. The declaration accompanies a photo, relevant résumé, two referees, and an audition. The earlier complete-application deadline is needed for consideration for a Fountain Performing Arts Undergraduate Scholarship.

- 2Explain why the Fountain School's Acting program fits what you want to develop next, rather than writing a general love-of-theatre statement.
- 3Use the one page for motivation and direction; let the separate résumé record roles and experience.
How to approach the writing
- Upload the declaration with the supplemental Acting materials in Dalhousie's application, and prepare the audition's modern-play monologue, poetic text, and song separately.
- Request reference letters early: Dalhousie says they must arrive at least two weeks before the audition.
Before you submit
Dalhousie lists February 15, 2027 for a complete scholarship-consideration application and April 9, 2027 for non-scholarship admission. Scholarship auditions are February 26 or March 5, with video due March 5. Confirm the live application and audition instructions for your selected route; the General Entrance Award is a separate application.
