Concordia Studio Arts letter of intent
Concordia Studio Arts asks for a letter about the applicant's reasons for applying, artistic education and experience, and goals for the program. The separate portfolio must contain 15–20 items and demonstrate technical skill and conceptual development. Applicants to multiple Studio Arts choices submit a separate portfolio for each.

What to prepare
- 1Identify the Studio Arts area that interests you and explain a question or material practice you want to pursue there.
- 2Connect a relevant class, project, or independent art practice to what you can already make and what you still need to learn.
- 3State a concrete goal for the program and let selected portfolio pieces show the development behind it.
How to approach the writing
- Keep the letter to one page in English or French; the portfolio, not the letter, should carry the full visual record.
- Choose 15–20 separately uploaded files, including work in two and three dimensions where it shows range, and follow the chosen Studio Arts area's own portfolio emphasis.
Before you submit
Concordia lists February 1, 2027 for internal transfers and double majors, and March 1, 2027 for new applicants and degree transfers. Complete the university application before SlideRoom, which requires a Concordia ID. Confirm the portal for the selected Studio Arts program.
