Concordia Computation Arts letter of intent
Concordia's Computation Arts route uses the Department of Design and Computation Arts application, but its portfolio limit differs from Design: up to 10 creative works rather than 15. The letter names the program, explains the applicant's interests and goals, describes technical and artistic skills, and shows an understanding of the program.

What to prepare
- 1Explain what you want to investigate through computational art, grounding it in an actual project or creative experiment.
- 2Describe both strengths and areas where you lack experience in software, image or object making, and related practices, as Concordia requests.
- 3Show that you understand the Computation Arts program specifically; explain why its mix of art and technology fits your goals instead of reusing a Design letter.
How to approach the writing
- Keep the letter to one page, about 500 words, in English or French and name Computation Arts as the target program.
- For each portfolio work, give title, medium, process, intention, and credit for collaborators or tutorial sources; the department permits up to 10 Computation Arts works.
Before you submit
New applicants must complete Concordia's university application before the department upload. If applying to both Design and Computation Arts, submit the required program-specific letters and follow the department's combined portfolio instructions. Check the current portal for the intake deadline.
