Waterloo Engineering requires an Admission Information Form and online video interview. The AIF asks about an interest, community, an unfair situation, goals for Waterloo, and activities outside class; Software Engineering has an additional form.

What to prepare
- 1Prepare separate examples for the four 150-word reflection questions instead of recycling one activity.
- 2Use the goals answer to show exposure to your chosen field and what you learned from exploring alternatives.
- 3For the activity section, record actual hours and responsibilities during the calendar year Waterloo specifies.
How to approach the writing
- Show your own decisions and learning, especially where the question asks what you would do differently.
- Preview the form in the applicant portal and proofread before submission; Waterloo says you cannot edit it afterward.
