Waterloo CAP written responses and interview
Waterloo's Conditional Admission to Pharmacy is a separate application alongside an eligible science degree. Applicants complete a declaration of academic experience and a CAP extracurricular experiences form. Those who meet the preceding requirements may be invited to a virtual interview with written and video responses about their motivation and fit for pharmacy. Waterloo does not publish a universal interview prompt or response length.

Waterloo requires authentic, accurate application responses. AI tools may support preparation, but the submitted work must represent your own experiences and abilities.
What to prepare
- 1Record leadership, community involvement, employment, volunteer work, and any pharmacy exposure accurately in the experience form, including dates and hours.
- 2Prepare a concrete example of what drew you toward pharmacy and what you learned through service or work with others.
- 3For an invited written response, answer the question shown in the interview platform; connect your experience to judgment, communication, or professional responsibility without guessing a prompt in advance.
How to approach the writing
- Keep the CAP status application, eligible science program application, portal forms, references, Casper, and virtual interview on separate checklists.
- Use the form to report verifiable experiences, then practice concise reflection for the later interview rather than scripting an unpublished question.
Before you submit
Waterloo lists February 1, 2027 for the CAP application and February 15 for portal forms and supporting documents. The interview is invitation-only, with a March 29 deadline in the published timeline. Check the live applicant portal and your invitation for the exact written questions and timing. Waterloo says application responses must accurately represent your own experiences, including when you use AI tools for preparation.
