UNB Saint John Education statement of intent
Students enter UNB Saint John's Bachelor of Arts first, then apply to the concurrent Education program during their first year. The Education application requires a personal statement of intent alongside a separate profile and two references.

What to prepare
- 1Explain why elementary teaching is the professional path you want to pursue.
- 2Connect a specific experience with learners to what you hope to study in the Education program.
- 3Show how your BA studies could support the subjects you would eventually teach.
How to approach the writing
- Use the statement for motivation and reflection while leaving biographical details to the profile form.
- Do not assume the statement is due with the original high-school BA application; the concurrent-program application follows in first year.
Before you submit
The current UNB calendar lists January 31 of the first BA year for the concurrent-program application. Request the supplemental forms from the Education Program Office and confirm the live deadline before filing.
