UNB Integrated Studies personal statement of goals
UNB's Bachelor of Integrated Studies is a flexible degree for adults returning to study. Its application asks for a personal statement about the applicant's background, interest in the degree, intended minor, and further academic goals; the separate résumé supports assessment of prior learning.

What to prepare
- 1Explain why completing a degree fits your work, life, or academic direction now.
- 2Name the minor you hope to study and connect it to a question or skill you want to develop.
- 3Describe any academic goals beyond the BIS without repeating the résumé's list of roles and dates.
How to approach the writing
- Let the letter explain the choices behind your path; reserve detailed employment history for the résumé.
- Use UNB's published topics as a checklist, since the public instructions do not specify a word limit.
Before you submit
Upload both the statement and detailed résumé with the online application. Applicants without a prior degree should also check UNB's transferable-credit, time-out-of-school, and interview requirements.
