UBC Bachelor of Music short answers
UBC Music's separate Bachelor of Music application asks about a significant musical experience, the applicant's reason for pursuing a BMus, and why UBC Music fits. It also requires an audition path and two references.

What to prepare
- 1Choose one musical experience that changed how you practise, perform, compose, or collaborate; explain its effect.
- 2Connect your BMus goals to the work you have already done and the musical skills you want to develop.
- 3Give a UBC-specific reason for applying that matches your intended major and audition plans.
How to approach the writing
- Give the three answers different jobs so the same performance does not carry the entire application.
- Name repertoire and musical roles accurately; the written answers should support, rather than restate, your audition record.
Before you submit
The BMus supplement and fee are due January 15, 2027; reference forms are due January 20. Confirm the live audition requirements for your instrument or voice part.
