UBC Land One letter of intent
Land One is a first-year cohort option for direct high-school entrants to three UBC Land and Food Systems degrees. Interested students submit a separate Land One application with a letter explaining why they want to join the cohort, and must be admitted to the faculty to be eligible. This is a different application from the Food and Resource Economics degree letter.

What to prepare
- 1Answer the Land One question directly: why you want to join its integrated first-year cohort.
- 2Use a specific learning interest to explain how the linked biology, food, forestry, or land-system courses fit you.
- 3If applying to Food and Resource Economics too, keep this cohort letter distinct from that program's three-topic admission letter.
How to approach the writing
- Confirm that you are entering directly from high school into one of the three eligible Land and Food Systems degrees.
- Use the separate Land One application and stay within its 500-word letter maximum; faculty admission alone does not submit this cohort application.
