StFX major scholarship essay response
StFX's published scholarship rules describe an essay response, extracurricular activities, awards, and references for its Major Scholarship application. Students apply for university admission and then complete the scholarship application separately. This writing is not required for ordinary admission or for automatically assessed entrance scholarships.

What to prepare

- 2Explain your own contribution and what you learned rather than repeating an activities list.
- 3Wait for the current application package before choosing a topic or length; the public calendar confirms an essay response but does not publish its exact prompt.
How to approach the writing
- Keep the Major Scholarship application distinct from any separate application-based award, which may have different questions or a nomination requirement.
- Arrange references and your first-term Grade 12 transcript alongside the writing; an essay alone does not complete the scholarship file.
Before you submit
StFX lists March 1, 2027 for admission, the Major Scholarship application, and supporting documents, with transcripts due by noon. Its scholarship application page still describes the previous 2026 deadline. Check the Fall 2027 package when released for the actual prompt, eligibility, reference instructions, and submission route.
