Bishop's Hold Status letter of intent
Bishop's may place a completed undergraduate application on Hold Status and ask the applicant for a letter of intent, sometimes alongside updated marks. The letter is not a standard supplement for every applicant. It helps Admissions reassess a file after the initial review.

What to prepare
- 1Explain why you would enroll in the specific Bishop's program you selected if offered admission.
- 2Show how educational, personal, or professional experience has prepared you for university-level work, using an example rather than a list of strengths.
- 3If circumstances affected your academic record, give a clear timeline and explain how those circumstances have changed or how you will manage them.
How to approach the writing
- Follow the actual message from Admissions: it determines whether the letter is needed and gives your deadline.
- Send the letter by email to Admissions or upload it through Submit Missing Documents in the myBU Applicant Portal, as the school instructs.
Before you submit
Bishop's accepts Fall 2027 undergraduate applications, but its Hold Status letter has an individual deadline in the Admissions message. Do not submit a generic letter in place of that request or assume a public word limit.
