Trinity graduate-entry law personal statement
Trinity's graduate-entry BCL law programme requires a personal statement of at most 500 words with a CV, two academic references, and academic records. This is a programme-specific graduate-entry application and should not be confused with the non-EU direct undergraduate statement.

What to prepare
- 1Explain why graduate-entry law is the next step after your existing degree and what legal questions interest you.
- 2Use one or two academic or practical experiences to show readiness for law study without repeating your CV.
- 3Connect your interests to the BCL's academic work, while checking the live portal for any more specific prompt.
How to approach the writing
- Stay within 500 words and submit the statement through the online application platform when the 2027–28 application opens.
- Arrange two academic references and any required translations separately; the public page publishes a length, not a prescribed essay question.
Before you submit
Trinity says applications should open in early November 2026 and gives March 31, 2027 as a tentative closing date. Confirm the final dates and portal instructions before submitting.
