Maastricht Science Programme motivation letter
Maastricht Science Programme uses a selective admission process that weighs previous science study, a motivation letter, and an interview. The school asks applicants to show a strong interest in science and to use the letter format supplied in MyApplication; its public page does not state a general prompt or word limit.

What to prepare
- 1Choose a scientific question you have pursued and explain how more than one science discipline helps you investigate it.
- 2Use specific coursework, experiments, or projects to show preparation for a broad science degree rather than claiming a general love of STEM.
- 3Connect that preparation to the scientific direction you want to explore at MSP, while leaving the final structure to the portal's required format.
How to approach the writing
- Open the MyApplication task before finalizing the letter; Maastricht says a letter outside its required format will not be considered.
- Prepare to discuss your academic plans in the online interview, which the school says lasts about 10–15 minutes.
Before you submit
For September 2027, complete Studielink and MyApplication admission tasks by April 1, 2027 if you have a non-EU/EEA nationality, or May 1 if you have EU/EEA or Swiss nationality. Maastricht lists May 28 for completion of the selection process, including the interview. Confirm the live task list and time zone.
