Eastern Finland Information Technology motivation letter
Eastern Finland's English-taught Bachelor and Master of Science in Information Technology has three admission groups. Only applicants using the two open-university routes, groups II and III, submit a motivation letter; group I uses an entrance-exam course and video interview instead.

What to prepare
- 1Identify whether you qualify for group II or III before drafting; each route has different completed open-university study requirements.
- 2Explain why the Information Technology programme fits the computer science topics you have already studied through the open university.
- 3Use a concrete project or course to show what you want to investigate next rather than repeating your transcript.
How to approach the writing
- Keep the motivation tied to the named programme and the open-university route you are using.
- Submit the current open-university transcript alongside the letter, following the Studyinfo instructions for the group.
Before you submit
The published 2027 group II/III letter deadline is 28 January at 15:00 Finnish time. Confirm your eligible route and current Studyinfo form; group I does not require this letter.
