Aalto Design and Media 2027 assignment stages
Aalto's English-taught Design and Media bachelor's selection begins with pass/fail preliminary assignments. Applicants who pass receive separate intake assignments, and those who pass again are invited to an interview with another assignment. Aalto has published the 2027 stage dates but will not release the preliminary tasks until December 17, 2026; the later tasks are sent only to shortlisted applicants.

Academic integrity
Aalto requires applicants to complete preliminary and intake assignments independently and without guidance. Use this page only to understand the published process; do not use an essay writer or another person to produce the assignments.
What to prepare
- 1Read the actual preliminary assignment instructions when Aalto publishes them; the school has not released 2027 prompts or formats yet.
- 2Use the university's published evaluation areas, including creative thinking and communicating ideas in written, spoken, and visual forms, to understand the selection process without assuming a particular task.
- 3If invited, complete the new intake assignments from the invitation rather than reusing preliminary work or earlier years' tasks.
How to approach the writing
- Apply in Aalto's admission round B through Studyinfo and upload preliminary work in the correct form field by its separate document deadline.
- Plan for a pass/fail first stage, scored later stages, and the May interview; each stage has its own notice and deadline.
Before you submit
The 2027 application runs January 7–22; preliminary assignments are due January 29 at 15:00 Finland time. Invited intake assignments are due March 31, and interviews run May 3–7. Aalto requires both assignment stages to be completed independently and without guidance. Read the released tasks and integrity rules before doing any work; previous-year prompts are not the 2027 assignment.
