For students in good academic standing enrolled in any program at UBC Vancouver's School of Information (iSchool). Candidates must demonstrate service in the UBC campus community; financial need may also be considered. Open to domestic and international students.
Awards totalling $2,400 are available; individual award values vary.
Made on the recommendation of the School of Library, Archival and Information Studies in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
The awards were endowed in memory of Zainab Jenny Kanji, who received her Bachelor of Library Science from UBC in 1969 and later returned as a mature student to complete a Master's in Library Science. She valued the education that enabled her deeply rewarding career.
