About this scholarship
For outstanding female undergraduate engineering students entering UBC Vancouver from secondary school or transferring from another post-secondary institution. Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, with preference for British Columbia residents who have demonstrated leadership through extracurricular or volunteer activities such as professional, school, social, and community organizations or athletics.
Renewable entrance scholarships totalling $14,000 are made available through an endowment established by Professors Yves and Cynthia Bled with matching funds from UBC; individual award values vary. Subject to continued academic standing, awards renew for a further three years of study or until the first undergraduate degree is obtained, whichever is shorter.

Cynthia and Yves Bled founded the Canadian Future Achievers Leadership program in 2008 to empower minority youth pursuing higher education.
