About this scholarship
Women pursuing an undergraduate degree in transportation or a related field such as engineering, planning, finance, or logistics may apply through the WTS Indianapolis Chapter.
One recipient receives a $2,500 Sharon D. Banks Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship. Applicants need a 3.0 or higher GPA and must demonstrate commitment to a transportation career.
Submit academic records, relevant experience, and a personal statement with the chapter application by January 1.

- Personal statement of no more than 500 words addressing career goals, leadership, leadership's importance in transportation, and leadership achievements
- One recommendation letter from a professor or job supervisor
- Proof of enrollment
- Relevant experience record
- List of professional/school affiliations and work/employment history
- GPA of 3.0 or higher (official transcript required)
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in a transportation-related field (e.g., transportation engineering, planning, finance, or logistics)
- Plans to pursue a career in a transportation-related field
- One letter of recommendation from a professor or job supervisor
- Proof of enrollment (tuition receipt or current registration card)
- List of professional/school affiliations and work/employment history
- Application submitted through the local WTS chapter (Indianapolis) via Google Form; personal statement attached as a separate Word document
- Award: $3,500 at chapter level, $5,000 at national level
- Apply through the WTS Indianapolis Chapter Google Form and attach the personal statement as a separate Word document.
