About this scholarship
Washington residents pursuing a first bachelor's degree at Washington State University who receive a Pell Grant or Washington College Grant and demonstrate financial need may qualify. Applicants need a Student Aid Index of $14,000 or less and must enroll at least half-time.
Cougar Commitment is a last-dollar award covering remaining tuition and mandatory fees after federal, state, and institutional grants are applied. Award amounts vary based on remaining need. Funding is available for up to eight semesters of continuous enrollment.
File the FAFSA or WASFA by WSU's priority deadline and complete the WSU General Scholarship Application to be considered.

- Be a Washington state resident pursuing a first bachelor's degree
- Be awarded a maximum or calculated Pell Grant, or a Washington College Grant based on an MFI range of 70% or less
- Have a Student Aid Index (SAI) of $14,000 or less
- File the FAFSA/WASFA by WSU's priority date each year
- Submit requested financial aid verification documents by the published deadline
- Apply to WSU for admission and be enrolled at least half-time (6 semester credit hours)
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) toward the degree
- This is an automatic last-dollar award covering remaining tuition and mandatory fees after federal, state, and institutional grants are applied.
- Funding is available for up to eight semesters of continuous enrollment.
- Recipients must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress toward the degree.
