About this scholarship

Women who identify as female, are U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents, and are rising juniors or seniors pursuing bachelor's degrees in engineering, math, or science with interest in an aerospace career may apply. You need a minimum 3.0 college GPA and at least 2.5 years of full-time coursework completed.

Four merit awards of $5,000 each are given for the upcoming academic year.

Submit the application with a 500 to 1,000 word essay and two recommendations. Applications typically open in mid-February.

The WIA Foundation funds these scholarships through donations from individuals and corporations in the aerospace community.

  • Two letters of recommendation (from a professor, or supervisor of summer/Co-op work or research; no relatives), submitted on the WIA recommendation form
  • Completed application form with biographical short-answer sections: honors/awards, extracurricular/community activities, and aerospace/education-related work experience
  • Submit as one merged PDF emailed to info@womeninaerospace.org by the June 16, 2026 deadline
