About this scholarship
Incoming freshmen, community college transfers, returning students, and current University of Utah students declaring Mining Engineering may apply for the William C. Browning Scholarship. Applicants need at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and strong math, physics, and chemistry background; extracurricular involvement is considered.
Recipients receive $6,000, paid $3,000 per semester. After one year with a 3.4 or higher GPA following the approved curriculum, awards increase. Cannot be held concurrently with the Explore More Scholarship.
The endowment honors mining industry leader William C. Browning, who established this fund to support future mining engineers.
