About this scholarship
Fourth-year UBC M.D. undergraduate students who best exemplify the spirit and accomplishments of Dr. William Alexander Webber (1934-2006) may be nominated. Candidates should have an outstanding academic record and demonstrate a genuine commitment to medicine and the community, enthusiasm for sports or the arts, leadership qualities, and the promise of an exceptional career.
Scholarships from this endowment total $31,550; the per-recipient amount varies. As the Faculty of Medicine's most prestigious M.D. undergraduate award, it was endowed by family, friends, and colleagues in memory of Dr. Webber. He graduated with the M.D. Class of 1958, served as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine from 1977 to 1990, and continued his involvement as Dean Emeritus until his passing in 2006.
Awards are made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Medicine. There is no separate student application.
