About this scholarship

Minority Indiana residents who lived in an underserved county (Allen, Marion, Lake, St. Joseph, or Vanderburgh) before college and are first-time undergraduates pursuing a teaching degree at an eligible Indiana institution may apply.

Awards are up to $4,000 per year based on remaining cost of attendance. Recipients agree to teach in an underserved Indiana county for at least three years after certification. The scholarship is renewable with at least a 2.0 GPA.

Submit the FAFSA and a ScholarTrack application by August 31.

  • Maintain cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (and GPA required for admission to the school of education) for renewal
  • Agree in writing to apply for a teaching position in an underserved Indiana county after certification and, if hired, teach for at least three years
  • For renewal, maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale and meet the school of education admission GPA requirement.
  • Recipients must agree in writing to apply for a teaching position in an underserved Indiana county after certification and, if hired, teach there for at least three years.
