About this scholarship
Canadian citizens or permanent residents enrolled in a master's or doctoral natural sciences program at a Canadian university, pursuing thesis research related to Canada's North, may apply. Research and field studies must relate to and take place in Canada's North (regions where permafrost and ground ice are present). The research proposal must be approved, including any required ethics reviews or research licenses, by the time the award is received.
Master's awards are valued at $20,000 over one year (up to fifteen awards). Doctoral awards are valued at $120,000 over three years (up to ten awards).
