About this scholarship
Nonresident freshmen and transfer students admitted to the University of New Mexico from eligible Western Undergraduate Exchange jurisdictions may be considered for merit-based WUE scholarships. Applicants need at least a 2.8 GPA.
WUE recipients pay 1.5 times resident tuition; WUE Plus recipients pay resident tuition rates. Award amounts vary by tier. There is no separate application; consideration is based on admission materials, including unweighted cumulative GPA. Apply for fall admission by the recommended deadline for best consideration.
Scholarships renew up to four years with 15 credits and a 2.5 GPA each semester. The Western Undergraduate Exchange program helps students from participating states access reduced nonresident tuition at UNM.
