Eligibility
About this scholarship
BIPOC female-identifying U.S. citizens from the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area who are high school seniors enrolled in a DMV public school for the past two years, or college freshmen or sophomores originally from the region, and who are enrolled or plan to enroll as Visual Arts majors at a two- or four-year college may apply for the WCADC Visual Arts Scholarship. WCADC members, WCA member family members, and prior recipients are ineligible.
One award of up to $5,000 may be used for tuition, campus housing, or instructional materials. The top three applicants also participate in an art exhibition.
Submit original artwork from the last three years, a process folio, and a reflection statement online by April 30. Original artwork counts for 50 percent of the score; process folio and written statement make up the rest. Only original individual work is eligible.
