About this scholarship

First- or second-year underrepresented minority medical students enrolled at an accredited medical school in the New York metropolitan area may apply for the Wayne Anthony Butts Scholarship through National Medical Fellowships. NMF awards generally require U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or approved DACA status, enrollment in an LCME- or AOA/COCA-accredited program, demonstrated financial need, and leadership with a commitment to underserved communities.

One $5,000 scholarship is awarded in recognition of academic achievement, leadership, community service, and interest in urban health.
