About this scholarship
For students graduating with any degree from the Department of Economics, Philosophy and Political Science in the Irving K. Barber Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at UBC Okanagan who intend to pursue a career as a lawyer. Preference is given to applicants with first-class standing.
Awards totalling up to $3,600 from an endowment established by alumnus Walley Lightbody.
Apply by email to the department by April 10 at 4 p.m. with a current statement of grades, a half-page letter describing your intention to pursue a career in law, supporting documentation such as an LSAT record or a law school application, and confirmation of at least two qualifying law-related courses.
The award recognizes Walley Lightbody, KC (B.A. 1956, LL.B. 1959), and his decades-long career in law.
