About this scholarship
Female U.S. citizens who have been Virginia residents for at least two years, are registered to vote in Virginia, and are attending or committed to attend a Virginia college or university may apply for the VFRW Kendall Rhodes Scholarship. Applicants need a minimum 2.5 GPA and must not be in their final year of study. The award supports students pursuing a career in education.
Scholarships of $2,000 are awarded. Winners must attend the VFRW convention lunch in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Submit the application with essays, a one-page resume, and a non-family recommendation addressing character and moral standing. The scholarship memorializes Past VFRW President Kendall Rhodes, an educator who served 32 years at Court Street Academy in Portsmouth.
