About this scholarship
Open to Class Members of the Manuge v. Her Majesty the Queen and Toth v. Her Majesty the Queen class actions, and to a Class Member's designated spouse, child, grandchild, niece, nephew, son-in-law, or daughter-in-law. The student may be enrolled full-time or part-time at a Canadian university, college, or CEGEP, or have completed post-secondary studies within the last five academic years.
The bursary provides $2,500 for one academic year and is not renewable; each person may receive it once. The current application period closes August 20, 2026, and bursaries are awarded yearly until the allocated funds are exhausted.
The Class Member designates an eligible recipient through the Universities Canada portal; the student then submits proof of registration, banking information, and their Social Insurance Number. Applications that meet the eligibility requirements are approved with no essay or merit assessment.
The program disburses a fund established by Federal Court of Canada orders and is administered by Universities Canada in partnership with Veterans Affairs Canada.
