About this scholarship

Vermont residents entering their first year at an accredited two- or four-year U.S. postsecondary institution may apply if they are affiliated with a Vermont Retail and Grocers Association (VRGA) member business. Affiliation includes being a dependent of a member employee or owner, or working at least 15 hours per week for a member with at least one year of employment.

Five scholarships of $3,000 are awarded.

Complete the scholarship application, submit proof of VRGA affiliation, and file the FAFSA at least four weeks before the deadline. The VRGA Scholarship Fund is supported by member contributions.

  • Copy of Student Aid Report (SAR) showing Estimated Family Contribution
  • Copy of financial aid letter from the college (tuition, room and board, books, lab fees)

  • Recommendation from current or previous employer (if not employed, two recommendations from other adults such as teacher/mentor/coach/community service supervisor)
  • One outside recommendation (teacher, guidance counselor, coach)
