About this scholarship

Vermont residents age 21 or younger who aged out of foster care may apply for the Vermont John H. Chafee Education and Training Scholarship. Applicants must have been under Vermont DCF custody through their 18th birthday, or adopted after age 16 while otherwise eligible, and must demonstrate financial need.

Awards of up to $5,000 support postsecondary education or training at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding.

Apply through VSAC's Unified Scholarship Application. The program helps young adults transition from foster care into education and career training.
