College of the Rockies students furthering full-time studies in agriculture, history, or journalism may apply. Selection considers academic achievement and community involvement, with preference for rural Cranbrook-area residents.

One scholarship of $1,250. The application asks for a statement on the philosophy of Verdun Casselman and familiarity with his book Ties to Water.
