About this scholarship

High school seniors who earned their black belt through the Vero Beach Karate Association (VBKA) and plan to attend college may qualify for VBKA college scholarships.

Award amounts depend on rank earned with VBKA: up to $1,000 for a 1st-degree black belt, up to $2,000 for 2nd-degree, and up to $3,000 for 3rd-degree. VBKA ties martial arts training to academic achievement through its College Scholarship Program.
