About this scholarship

High school seniors who gain admission to Ursinus College may compete for a single full-tuition creative writing scholarship. Submit a portfolio of up to 10 double-spaced pages of fiction, poetry, or mixed genres. A committee of past winners, finalists, and faculty selects the recipient.

The award covers full tuition and renews for four years. The winner lives in the dorm room once occupied by J.D. Salinger during freshman year, takes a leadership role in the campus writing community, and helps review future portfolios and select the next winner.
