About this scholarship
Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or international students with a valid summer visa who are registered in a University of Toronto bachelor's program with at least a B- cumulative average may hold a UTEA under eligible faculty supervision (principal investigator on an active tri-agency grant). Graduating students may hold the award in the summer immediately after completing their undergraduate program if they have not started graduate study.
Each award is $6,000 plus a minimum $1,500 supervisor or division top-up ($7,500 total stipend) for 14-16 weeks between May 1 and September 30. Applications go through the supervising faculty member's department; the UTM department internal deadline is March 3, 2026.
