About this scholarship

University of Toronto undergraduates (including UTM students) may apply for a University of Toronto Excellence Award for summer research in natural sciences and engineering, social sciences and humanities, or health and life sciences. Applicants need an eligible faculty supervisor and must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or international students with a valid student visa for the full summer work term. A cumulative average of B+ or higher is required (for upper-year students, the best two years may be used).

The award is $7,500 for 14 to 16 weeks of full-time research during the summer term. Students may hold at most three UTEAs in their university career and may not hold a UTEA and an NSERC USRA (or equivalent) in the same summer.

Find a supervisor, complete the USRA and UTEA application form with your supervisor, and submit it with an unofficial ACORN transcript by the departmental deadline.
