U.S. citizens and permanent residents applying as fall first-year students to the University of Miami are automatically considered for the Ronald A. Hammond Scholarship. Preference is given to first-generation students. No separate scholarship application is required beyond admission materials.
Hammond Scholars receive full undergraduate tuition for four years. Recipients must enroll full time (at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring, and at least 24 per academic year) and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA for the academic year. The number of recipients varies. Recipients are notified at admission and may receive only one merit scholarship from Undergraduate Admission.
The award goes to high school seniors who have shown academic excellence and who intend to continue their studies through graduate education.
