About this scholarship
University of Manitoba undergraduate students in any discipline with at least 24 credit hours completed and a minimum 3.0 GPA who apply for a competitive 16-week full-time summer research mentorship (May through August) with a professor of their choice. Cannot be held with an NSERC USRA or more than twice in total.
Up to 205 awards across all faculties, plus two additional community-based awards supported by SSHRC. A minimum of 21 awards are reserved for students who self-declare as Indigenous. Award value is $7000 ($5,000 from VPRI/UMSU plus a $2,000 supervisor/faculty contribution). The award is a recognized UM Co-Curricular Record activity.
