About this scholarship
Traditional incoming freshmen at the University of Maine at Presque Isle (not YourPace online students) are automatically considered for merit awards at acceptance. Transfer students with a 3.0 GPA and 15 transferable credits are also eligible.
Freshmen with 1100+ SAT or 25 ACT and a 3.3 GPA, or a 3.7 GPA alone, may receive up to $5,000 per year. Transfer students with qualifying credentials receive $2,000 per year. Additional donor and memorial scholarships have varying criteria.
Most merit awards do not require demonstrated financial need. The exact number of awards varies based on eligibility and available funding.

- Traditional undergraduates ($5,000): SAT 1100+ (EBRW+Math) or ACT 25 composite AND minimum HS GPA 3.3, OR overall GPA 3.7 (Canadian students: academic average 90+)
- Transfer students ($2,000): minimum 3.0 GPA and at least 15 transferable credit hours
- Renewable each year; applies to traditional fall/spring 15-week programming (YourPace students ineligible)

- Canadian applicants may qualify with an academic average of 90% or higher.
