University of Akron Merit Scholarship

Incoming first-time, first-year students at the University of Akron are automatically considered for merit scholarships through a review of academic transcripts, curriculum rigor, and cumulative GPA. Standardized test scores are not used in the scholarship evaluation.

The merit amount offered at admission is a commitment for total merit aid over four years (eight semesters). Individual scholarship names may change as donor-funded portions are applied. Award amounts vary.

Apply for admission and ensure high school transcripts are on file. No separate scholarship application is required. Maintain required academic standards to retain the award.
