Undergraduate Student Research Awards (NSERC, CIHR, SSHRC)

For Canadian citizen or permanent resident undergraduates at UBC Vancouver or Okanagan seeking a 14 to 16 week full-time research placement with an eligible supervisor. All eligible domestic students may apply for NSERC USRAs; CIHR and SSHRC USRAs are currently offered only through the Black student researchers pathway.

The agency contribution is $6,000 per award; the host supervisor tops up pay for the work term. Apply via NSERC Form 202 with an eligible supervisor and your faculty or school USRA coordinator. Faculty deadlines vary. UBC holds one annual competition covering Summer, Fall, and Winter terms.
