UNCF Northern Ohio Scholarship

Current high school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who are permanent residents of northern Ohio may apply for the UNCF Northern Ohio Scholarship, offered by the UNCF Northern Ohio Inter-Alumni Council with support from the Cleveland Council of Black Colleges Alumni Association. Special consideration is given to students who attend or have attended Shaw High School in East Cleveland. Applicants need a 2.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, must be attending or planning to attend an accredited UNCF member school or HBCU, and must complete the FAFSA and demonstrate financial need.

The award is $3,000. The number of awards varies.

Apply through the UNCF portal with a completed online application, a reference form submitted by the recommender, a 500-word essay on career aspirations, leadership, and significant achievements, and a current transcript.
