About this scholarship
College sophomores and juniors committed to careers in environmental fields, Tribal public policy, or Native health care must be nominated by their institution to compete for the Udall Undergraduate Scholarship.
Up to 65 recipients receive $7,500 for tuition, fees, books, and room and board. Recipients also attend a multiday Scholar Orientation.
Campus nomination deadlines precede the national March 4 deadline. The application includes an 11-question form, an 800-word essay, college transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and additional documentation for Tribal policy or health care applicants.
The scholarship honors the legacies of Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall in public lands stewardship, Native governance, and health care.
