About this scholarship
The UCB Family Epilepsy Scholarship Program supports the epilepsy community in higher education. Applicants must be legal U.S. residents who are either diagnosed with epilepsy by a physician or an immediate family member or caregiver of a person with epilepsy, and must be graduating high school seniors or graduates enrolled in or awaiting acceptance to a U.S. trade school, associate, undergraduate, or graduate program for the fall.
In 2026 UCB awarded 33 one-time scholarships: thirty of up to $5,000 plus three leadership and memorial awards of up to $10,000. There is no GPA, financial-need, or field-of-study requirement.
Applying requires a one-page essay, three recommendation letters, a medical history form, and a transcript. The 2026 deadline was March 31; the program runs annually. UCB employees, their immediate family, and recent UCB advocates are not eligible.
