About this scholarship
U.S. high school seniors may submit a 600- to 800-word personal essay responding to one of four prompts about independence, curiosity, and open-mindedness.
Let Grow awards an $8,000 grand prize and additional awards to three runners-up. Funds may be used at university, community college, or trade school.
AI-generated essays are prohibited, and entries are checked for plagiarism. Choose one of the provided real-world prompts and submit your essay by the deadline.

- One original personal-narrative essay of 600 to 800 words responding to one of the four provided prompts
- Applicant chooses ONE of the four essay prompts
- Essay must be 600-800 words (title excluded)
- Must be a personal narrative written by the applicant about themselves and their own opinions
- Copy/paste into text field; no special formatting, images, or hyperlinks
- Do not include your full name within the essay
- Plagiarism and AI-detection screening will occur; must be original student work (not parent-written or AI-written)
- Eligibility: U.S. high school seniors currently in 12th grade
- Awards: $8,000 grand prize plus three $2,000 runners-up
- Essay must be written by the applicant, express their own opinions, and not be parent-written or AI-generated.
